FLUTE ENSEMBLE SEEKING NEW MEMBERS

If you play the flute now or you used to play the flute and you’d like to start up again, then Silver Sounds Flute Ensembles is looking for you!  The Redlands-based flute ensemble is now recruiting new members for the 2010 season.

New Members do no need any previous experience playing in a flute choir, but they should have experience in playing flute in elementary, junior high, high school, college or community band or orchestra.  All ages are welcome, and it’s ok if new members haven’t played in a few years.  In fact, the flute choir is the perfect way to start playing the flute again.

The ensemble makes use of various flutes, ranging from the piccolo-1/2 inches wide and 10 inches long-up to the bass flute, measuring 1 ½ inches wide and over 3 feet long.  In between there is traditional C flute, as well as and E-flat flute, alto flute, and D flat piccolo.  Possession of these instruments are not required, however anyone who owns the larger instruments will be able to make good use of them.

These groups play a wide variety of music, ranging from the Mozart to jazz, and everything in between.  There are two groups to choose from according to skill level, each group rehearses once a week in Redlands and performs regularly.  Silver Sounds has performed at Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, The Redlands Bowl, Redlands Market Night, local churches, malls and other public locations.

Silver Sounds Flute Ensembles was formed in 1993, by Jackie Aronowitz in order to provide local flute players with an opportunity to perform in an ensemble different from traditional bands or orchestra.  Members of this group experience the flute choir literature, perform in interesting concert venues, form lasting friendship within the group, and continue to grow as a flutist.

Those interested in joining Silver Sounds Flute Ensembles should contact the director, Jackie Aronowitz, at 909-3335-1833, or email: sweetsilver@earthlink.net

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FARMER BOYS GRAND RE-OPENING MARKS THE START OF A NEW PARTNERSHIP IN THE LOMA LINDA COMMUNITY! EVERYONE IS INVITED TO THE CELEBRATION!

JUNE 17TH, 2010 – Loma Linda, CA.  The local Loma Linda community is invited to join in the Grand Re-Opening celebration of the Farmer Boys Restaurant located at 10475 Mountain View Avenue this coming weekend. The Ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 4:00pm on Thursday, June 17th kicking off a weekend of fun-filled festivities!  The Grand Re-Opening is the beginning of a new relationship and commitment by the Farmer Boys Restaurant to be a proactive partner and supporter in the community. Jose Navarro, the restaurant manager and with one of Farmer Boys Area Operations Managers, Luis Lucero are excited about their new resolve. They pledge to continue work with their Farmers Boys team in providing not only great tasting food but offer exceptional guest service which portrays an ‘eager-to-please’ attitude.

To make good on this new commitment, the Grand Re-Opening will be the start of several in-store events to raise funds for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. The Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital is a world leader in Children’s Heart Transplants and a pioneer in life-saving procedures and comprehensive care of children nationwide.  “Any Fundraising we can do for this research-driven, healthcare university hospital is not enough. But, every little bit makes a difference, if they are to continue use innovative technology in their world-class clinical care and cutting edge research work,” said Ken Clark, the CEO of Farmer Boys Restaurants.

Farmer Boys, a restaurant icon known for its award-winning burgers, colossal onion rings and hand battered crispy zucchini, features over 75 freshly prepared items including many ‘made-to-order’ foods from farm fresh ingredients which are served all day long. Although burgers are the cornerstone of this Franchise chain, Farmer Boys Restaurants’ menu carries a wide range of delicious specialty sandwiches, wraps, salads and breakfast choices which compete with the Restaurants’ world-famous burgers for flavor, presentation, portion size and satisfaction.  Lucero explains; “Our commitment to our guest is to continuously serve them the highest in quality of food throughout all day parts, whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. We also want to deliver the most delicious burgers and food they have ever tasted. We want to be their Restaurant of Choice. We use the freshest and most flavorful ingredients available.” See for yourself, come and celebrate this Father’s Weekend at Farmers Boys and taste great food.

The celebration is expected to start on Thursday, June 17th, 2010 at the 10475 Mountain View Avenue location just south of the 10Freeway.  The Chamber of Commerce’s Lucy Argueta along with several local City Council Representatives will be present to assist Jose Navarro and Luis Lucero with the ceremonial ribbon cutting at 4:00pm. The community is invited to join in the festivities. The first 50 customers to arrive at the ribbon cutting on Thursday will receive a FREE Farmer Boys T-shirt. A special 99¢ cheeseburger offer will be available daily starting Thursday through Sunday, from 2:00PM to 8:00PM.
